What he does
Attorney, tax advisor and restructuring advisor. He handles cases at the intersection of criminal and business law, combining defence in criminal and fiscal criminal proceedings with representation in corporate disputes, tax advice, and corporate restructuring and insolvency. This combination of skills allows him to run complex cases in which criminal liability, an ownership dispute and tax risk are intertwined.
Criminal and fiscal criminal law
He specialises in defence in criminal and fiscal criminal cases, with particular focus on white-collar crime. He represents clients at every stage of proceedings, from the first actions of law enforcement, through the preparatory stage, to trial. He conducts the defence in cases involving acting to the detriment of a company, business fraud, money laundering and managerial offences, as well as in fiscal criminal proceedings arising from disputes with tax authorities.
He has a distinguished practice in firearms cases. As a shooting instructor, disciplinary prosecutor of the largest shooting organisation in Poland and a participant in parliamentary working groups on firearms possession, he represents clients in cases of self-defence and exceeding its limits, and in proceedings concerning firearms licences and the regulation of firearms possession.
Corporate disputes
He represents partners, shareholders and members of corporate bodies in corporate conflicts. He handles disputes between shareholders, challenges to resolutions, the civil and criminal liability of management board members and the protection of minority shareholders’ rights. His criminal and commercial experience allows him to pursue these disputes on several tracks where an ownership conflict is intertwined with the personal liability of managers.
Tax advice
As a tax advisor, he supports businesses in disputes with tax authorities, from audits and verification activities to proceedings before administrative courts. He represents clients in cases where fiscal criminal charges arise from interpretative disputes with the tax authorities, combining the tax perspective with criminal defence and limiting the risk of personal liability.
Restructuring and insolvency
As a licensed restructuring advisor, he acts as administrator and trustee and advises businesses in restructuring and insolvency proceedings. He helps carry out recovery processes and manage a difficult financial situation, taking into account the management board’s liability for the company’s obligations and the timely filing of a petition.
Lecturer and author
He teaches in degree programmes and postgraduate MBA programmes and speaks at industry conferences and training courses. He is the author of a book on the legal protection of assets and of articles in corporate and tax journals.
Education & admissions
He is a law graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and of MBA management studies at Lazarski University in Warsaw. He completed the School of British and European Law run by the British Law Centre in cooperation with the University of Cambridge, and the International Business and Trade Summer Law Program organised by the Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C., together with the Jagiellonian University. He is registered on the list of attorneys kept by the District Bar Council in Warsaw, the list of restructuring advisors kept by the Minister of Justice and the list of tax advisors kept by the National Chamber of Tax Advisors.
