Who the tax reliefs review is for
The review makes sense for companies growing in areas where tax reliefs can change the tax burden considerably, such as research, innovation and technology. In practice the reliefs are often applied only in part, or a more conservative approach is taken instead. The audit identifies those gaps, verifies the conditions of correct application and indicates what is worth changing, so that the preferences are used correctly and effectively.
The risk of applying a relief incorrectly
Every relief comes with conditions set out in the tax legislation. Where doubts arise as to whether those conditions are met, a tax control may question the settlements made so far and call for corrections. A review therefore covers not only the opportunities, but also the assessment of compliance with what the authorities expect and the recommendations on the documentation required. The risk analysis allows an informed decision on whether, and how, to apply a given relief in the future.
Price and scope
The fee starts from EUR 1400 net and covers, as an example, a review of one or two reliefs, such as the R&D relief or IP Box, for a single company. A larger number of reliefs, a complex cost structure or a deeper comparison with the practice of the tax authorities raises the price, and we confirm the fee before the work starts.
